about six months ago we challenged the kids (OK we bribed them) to take the areas at school that they were struggling with (math and spelling for Zack) (Reading for Emma) and bring them up to par. We knew the only reason Zack was having trouble with math and spelling was the lack of effort. So we told them that if they would bring those scores up we would get them both a Nintendo DS at the end of school. Emma more than doubled her reading score and Zack received 100% on every spelling test after our challenge. His math came way up also. We are so proud that our challenge motivated them. Now we have great leverage, when we want them to do something! Hee hee Hopefully we don't come to regret this challenge.....?
