Our trip to Mesa Verde

School ended on Friday May 28th. We left Cedar as soon as Jason got home and we were in Grand Junction that night at 10pm. We stayed the night at a KOA and then left early in the morning to start our day on the road. We traveled to Ouray and over the Swiss Alps of America.
This were we saw this giant waterfall. We could hear the rocks in the water hitting the rocks at the bottom, so cool. Zack had his own camera to take pictures.

This is another waterfall. There was so much water, it was still early spring here in the lower Rockies.

This bridge over the road is pretty ingenious. For snow or melt. The road won't get washed out. We could one of these in cedar canyon.

This is red Mountain. There are tons of Mines and old mining towns every few miles.

This is Silverton, we stopped here to have lunch and look around a bit. There was a bicycle race that went from Durango to Silverton, so the road was closed till 1pm. This is a steam train that travels from Durango to Silverton and back. It was pretty cool.
A small lake along the way to Durango. Zack thought he could go swimming, till I bet him he couldn't hold his hand in it for more than 10 seconds. He didn't last that long! This is freshly melted snow at about 11,000 ft!

We made it to Durango and then to Cortez were we set up camp at another KOA and then the next day we went to Mesa Verde. Our first tour was the Cliff Palace. This is Zack on the first Ladder to the cliff, he did so great for only having one arm to climb with.

Cliff Palace

Square Tower

The inside of a Kiva.
Jason's dream arch. This is in Durango, we went there for Dinner to "Serious Texas BBQ"
Seriously Delicious! Jason was licking his fingers for hours!

Having S'mores at camp.

We bought a game at walmart. Jason and Emma having fun.
Zack and Emma received another junior ranger badge!

Long House.
This one was cool, because you could walk up in the rooms.

A ladder.
The Fam on the tour.
Four corners. It is closed for renovations. Skip it!
Navajo bridge, it's a long ways down!
So glad he is not on his bike! :)
Zack got to see a couple of California Condors! His favorite bird!

The mighty Colorado.
The mighty Emma!
The Mighty Zack!
The exhausted Titan. Just a few more hours till home!
Wow, what a trip! Awesome!
